10+ years in HR, Fortune 50 to startups Built by a working mom, for working moms No "girlboss" energy, promise

The story

Hi, I'm Heather.

I built The Promotion and The Pacifier after spending years trying to figure out how to be taken seriously at work and present at home — usually on the same afternoon.

By day, I'm an HR executive with over a decade of experience spanning Fortune 50 companies to early-stage startups — which means I've sat on both sides of the table: the one giving the performance review, and the one staring at a pumping schedule taped inside a planner.

Nobody hands you a manual for negotiating a return-to-work plan, surviving a reorg while sleep-deprived, or asking for flexibility without flinching. So I started writing the one I wished I'd had.

"You don't have to choose between ambitious and present. You just need better tools than the ones they gave you."

This is the "why" — and also why I sometimes answer Slack with one hand.

What started as frustration became inspiration. Across the different roles I've held in corporate, I've seen firsthand what works, what doesn't, and what no one tells you until you're already in it — and I built this to share it, backed by a decade of real HR experience and the very real chaos of being a working mom.
